Gnats ass away from ditching all forms of social media

In the grand scheme of things, why the fuck do I need to have contact with 200+ people? Unless I'm trying to get money from these people, there is no useful purpose at all to having these imaginary relationships. It's funny how selective the process of deleting 'friends' is. Realistically, these people are several degrees away from being mere acquaintances, let alone friends. I wonder how long we will kid ourselves with Facebook and blogs before we realize how fruitless it is to maintain our online presence. Fuck it, let the corporate shitbags take the internet! They can have it. As long as I can still get information and listen to Pandora, they can charge for the bandwidth taken up by Facebook and Shitter all they want, they'll never get a red cent from me. I don't know the details on the whole privatization of the internet debacle, so I'm probably out of my element, but damn, maybe we need to step back and begin focusing on what's real and tangible. When people can use the internet to find out your income, see what your house looks like, filter you out of the employee selection process, and so on, and so on, it's gone too far.
